If you are tracking PAC information for state reporting purposes it is very important that the Deposit date field and the Receipt date field are accurate. SAMS knows that if you enter an L (legislator) or V (vendor) in the PAC Type field, the Payee section of this screen will allow you to enter information.
To access the PAC transaction screen, right click (or F3) and select transactions. The following screen appears.
The individual's ID number, SAMS defaults this number from the previous screen.
SAMS automatically inserts a transaction number for this record. This number cannot be changed. This field links the PAC transaction to a membership transaction if your PAC dollars are also entered through the membership payment screen.
Date of deposit is entered as today's date, but can be changed.
Enter the date the payment was received.
Enter the credit card number or check number.
PAC Type is automatically entered from the PAC information screen.
If a pledge amount has been established on the PAC record, this box will be available. If this particular transaction should be applied to the pledge, check the box.
Enter the payment code, amount of the pledge for state and the description if any. Prior to entering payment codes, the payment codes must be established in the look-up codes table.
